According to ShanghaiRanking, the University of Nottingham Ningbo China (UNNC) has been placed 65th in the latest reference ranking.
As a Sino-foreign cooperative institution, UNNC is not included in the formal 2026 ShanghaiRanking Best Chinese Universities Ranking. However, ShanghaiRanking conducted a comparative analysis using its evaluation indicators and concluded that the university's overall strength aligns with that of the country's 65th-ranked university.
The university also ranked second among China's joint-venture universities, further cementing its reputation for academic excellence.
This rise was driven by the university's strong student development outcomes. The university has maintained a perfect score for undergraduate value-added for six consecutive years, ranking first nationwide, while its undergraduate further education rate has remained among the top three in China for seven straight years.
The ranking, a globally influential assessment of higher education institutions, evaluates universities based on 10 parameters. In the 2026 results, UNNC stood out particularly in faculty scale and structure, talent cultivation capacity, and international competitiveness — areas where it leads among its peers.
The university ranked first in faculty structure and teaching conditions, and second in educational outcomes. Key metrics such as professor-led teaching, faculty qualifications, and the number of nationally recognized first-class undergraduate courses all placed near the top.
These achievements reflect UNNC's sustained commitment to excellence in faculty development, talent training, and internationalized education, earning strong recognition from authoritative evaluation systems.
