Ningbo talents deliver golden moments at 2026 Asian Games

Ningbo's young athletes have made their mark at the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games, delivering record-breaking performances and podium finishes in athletics and table tennis.
In the women's javelin final, Ningbo athlete Yan Ziyi made a remarkable Asian Games debut, winning gold with her first throw by sending the javelin 70.46 meters to set a new Asian Games record. The throw was more than seven meters farther than the runner-up's mark and improved the previous record by 4.37 meters.
The 17-year-old sprint star Chen Yujie also delivered a memorable performance in Nagoya, winning the women's 100m title in 11.06 seconds and breaking both the Asian Games record and the Asian U20 record. Two days later, she claimed silver in the women's 200m final.
Having emerged as one of China's most promising young sprinters, Chen continues to make breakthroughs on the international stage, with her performances in Nagoya further highlighting her potential in Asian and global sprinting.
In table tennis, Ningbo-born player Huang Youzheng teamed up with Lin Shidong to win the men's doubles, defeating Japan's Tomokazu Harimoto and Hiroto Shinozuka 4-2 in the final.
From record-breaking throws and sprint victories to a table tennis triumph, Ningbo's young athletes have brought energy and excellence to the Asian Games, showcasing the city's continued strength in sports development.
