Zhejiang's retail sales of consumer goods reached 1.95 trillion yuan ($288.92 billion) in the first half of 2026, up 3 percent year-on-year and 1.7 percentage points above the national growth rate.

Mao Yuan Chang, a century-old eyewear brand, and Hangzhou-based Rokid opened China's first concept store combining smart-glasses retail and prescription fitting at Westlake 66 in Hangzhou on April 30.

The glasses offer navigation, translation, and photography functions, while custom flat prescription lenses developed by Mao Yuan Chang allow nearsighted customers to try the products and have them fitted on the same day.

Rokid ranked first in China's online smart-glasses market in the first quarter, with about 120 million yuan in retail sales. On June 26, the company launched new AI glasses at the Yiwu Global Digital Trade Center.

Available figures showed that retail sales of wearable smart devices and smartphones in Zhejiang rose 220 percent and 51.5 percent, respectively, in the first half.
