CGTN| Updated:  June 24, 2026 L M S

The main span of the Qinglongmen Grand Bridge in Zhejiang province, East China, closed on June 23, marking a construction milestone.

Spanning the Qinglongmen Channel at the Ningbo-Zhoushan Port, the bridge is 2,212 meters long and features three towers and two main spans, each measuring 756 meters long.

The bridge is one of the two principal bridges in Phase II of the Liuheng Highway Bridge project at Ningbo-Zhoushan Port.

Scheduled to open to traffic by the end of 2027, the project will slash travel time between the three islands from a two-hour ferry ride to a 20-minute drive, boosting the local transport efficiency by about 75 percent.
