A cultural event celebrating China's tea traditions and Dragon Boat Festival has been held in Baifeng subdistrict, Beilun district, Ningbo. Villagers, foreign teachers and international students from Ningbo Polytechnic University gathered to immerse themselves in traditional Chinese customs through tea culture and festive activities.
During the event, a tea master showcased the elegance of Song Dynasty (960-1279)-style tea whisking, demonstrating techniques such as preparing tea paste, whisking tea and creating intricate patterns on the foam. By drawing comparisons between tea foam artistry and Western latte art, organizers helped international guests gain a deeper appreciation of the refinement of Chinese tea culture.
The zongzi-making session proved equally popular. Local residents teamed up with international participants, guiding them step by step through the process of folding leaves, filling them with glutinous rice, wrapping the parcels and tying them securely. Laughter and lively conversation filled the room as participants learned about the origins and cultural significance of Dragon Boat Festival.
Blending the elegance of traditional tea culture with the warmth of festival customs, the event offered international guests a hands-on introduction to Chinese heritage.
