A Ningbo urban regeneration lighting project, built on a former industrial site, has won the Award of Special Light at the 11th Asian Lighting Design Awards. The project was recognized for its combination of energy efficiency, smart control, and high-quality public space design.

The Asian Lighting Design Awards, organized by the Asian Association of Lighting Designers, are a major industry recognition platform in Asia, honoring lighting projects that balance functionality, aesthetics, and sustainable innovation across four tiers of awards: "Outstanding Light", "Excellent Light", "Special Light", and "Asian Light".

At the core of the Ningbo project is a high-efficiency LED system that reduces energy consumption by more than 40 percent compared with conventional lighting. An intelligent control system adjusts brightness and lighting modes based on time, season, and pedestrian flow, helping cut light pollution while keeping the space comfortable and visually balanced at night.

The project is now regarded as a strong example of how industrial heritage sites can be reimagined into low-carbon, livable urban communities through smart design and lighting innovation.
