International sailors embrace Chinese New Year traditions in Ningbo
A group of international sailors got to experience the warmth and vibrant atmosphere of Chinese New Year early in Ningbo, East China's Zhejiang province.
Crew from the Liberian-flagged vessel Unaisa Express, together with officials from the Ningbo Border Inspection Station, participated in a festive activity to welcome Chinese New Year, held in Meishan subdistrict on Jan 31.
From browsing various stalls at a themed market and enjoying captivating performances to experiencing traditional Chinese calligraphy, this event offered an early taste of the festive cheer.
Ukrainian captain Maksym Gusyev, with guidance from a calligraphy instructor and assistance from the officials, participated in a collaborative calligraphy project. Together with his crew, they created an impressive piece of calligraphy, symbolizing their wishes for a prosperous new year.
