International graduates from the University of Nottingham Ningbo China (UNNC) are increasingly staying in Ningbo to build careers with local companies, supported by university guidance and streamlined visa processes.
Victoria, a German graduate, recently completed her onboarding as a management trainee at a local toy manufacturing company after receiving her Chinese start-up visa at the Yinzhou District Government Service Center. UNNC's Global Engagement Office guided her through document preparation and provided one-on-one online consultations, making the process smooth and efficient.
This year, five other UNNC graduates from Indonesia, Mexico, Burundi, Bangladesh, and Peru have also obtained visas to remain in Ningbo. They are taking up roles in foreign trade, computer science, and hydrodynamic analysis.
Huang Huanhuan, director of UNNC's Global Engagement Office, said that the university works closely with local authorities and employers to handle background checks, qualification reviews, and application procedures. This support helps students navigate the complexities of working in China while meeting the needs of local companies.
With guidance, practical support, and connections to local employers, UNNC continues to enable international graduates like Victoria to transition smoothly from campus to professional life in Ningbo.
