Ningbo's GDP grows by 5% in first three quarters
Ningbo in East China's Zhejiang province saw 5 percent year-on-year growth in its GDP for the first three quarters of 2025, reaching 1.35 trillion yuan ($190.18 billion).
Breaking down by sector, the primary industry contributed 30.11 billion yuan, a 3.6 percent increase. The secondary industry added 573.65 billion yuan, up 4.3 percent, while the industrial sector grew 5.6 percent to 526.2 billion yuan. The tertiary industry saw a 5.5 percent rise, contributing 745.53 billion yuan.
The service sector's value-added output rose by 5.5 percent in the first three quarters. The Ningbo port area of Ningbo-Zhoushan Port reported a cargo throughput of 540 million metric tons, up 2.8 percent, as well as container throughput of 29.09 million twenty-foot equivalent units, up 7.7 percent.
Retail sales of consumer goods totaled 412.9 billion yuan, a 2.9 percent year-on-year increase, with a 0.7 percentage point acceleration from the first half of the year.
The city's total trade reached 1.09 trillion yuan, up 3.7 percent, with exports at 739.34 billion yuan, up 6.0 percent. Private enterprises played a significant role, contributing 846.13 billion yuan in trade, a 5.7 percent increase.
Per capita disposable income rose to 61,980 yuan, a real growth of 3.9 percent. Urban residents saw a 3.6 percent increase in per capita disposable income, while rural residents experienced a 4.6 percent rise, narrowing the urban-rural income gap to 1.55.
