Services sector powers over 60% of Zhejiang's H1 GDP growth
Zhejiang's services sector generated 2.69 trillion yuan ($374.29 billion) in added value in the first half of 2025, up 6 percent year-on-year, according to official statistics.
The sector accounted for 59.8 percent of the province's GDP over the period and contributed 3.5 percentage points to overall economic growth — a 60.9 percent share of total GDP expansion.
An official from the Zhejiang Provincial Development and Reform Commission attributed the strong performance to macro policies, a boost in holiday-related consumption, a surge in export activity, and coordinated efforts across government departments and cities.
The services sector is not only a major driver of Zhejiang's economy but also a key variable in its industrial competitiveness. A second official said that Zhejiang would place greater emphasis on expanding producer services and service-related consumption in the second half of the year.
