Chinese toon buds are only on the market for a short period of time, typically 15 to 20 days. 

They are most popular around the Spring Equinox. 

The Spring Equinox (Chinese: 春分) is the fourth annual term. It starts on March 20 and ends on April 4 this year. 

The buds are either mixed with sauce or picked with salt. They are commonly fried with eggs after being shredded.
